- Essence and importance of VSM
- 7 Lean losses
- Flow of material and information
- Product family selection
- Value stream manager
- Use of the mapping method
2. Map of the current state.
3. Creating a map of the current state:
- Step 1. Presentation of the customer’s requirements.
- Step 2. Presentation of the different phases of the processes.
- Step 3. Collection and calculation of data.
- Step 4. Presentation of the material flow.
- Step 5. Presentation of the information flow.
- Step 6. Presentation of the requirements for the supplier.
- Step 7. Final calculations.
4. Slimming down the value stream:
- Characteristics of a lean value stream.
- Calculating and including the customer’s tact into the design.
- Selecting the manufacturing method.
- Selecting continuous production flow sites.
- Introducing suction systems e.g. of the supermarket type.
- Selection of the scheduling site (stimulating process).
- Production in small batches and levelling.
5. Map of the future state:
- Creating a map of the future state - an exercise.
- Dividing implementation into stages.
- A value stream change plan.
- Improving the value stream.
