- To familiarise participants with standards, symbols and tolerance modifiers, in particular geometric tolerances.
- To learn how to interpret drawing records, in particular records specific to the automotive industry.
- To learn the principles of bases and their influence on measurement results.
- To avoid frequent drawing errors basing on case studies from industry.
- To familiarise participants with the description of the functionality / mountability of parts using geometric tolerances.

· The 13th Minimum material principle.

Exercises: · The principle of coating and the principle of independence - judging the conformity/non-conformity of products and the selection of measurement tools and methods for selected examples. · "Profile" - visualisation of the tolerance field and deviation analysis and reporting methods. · The principle of maximum material - analysis of selected examples. · Run-out - specifying the type of deviation. · Geometric deviations - visualization of the size of geometric deviations of products. · Geometric deviations - determining the type of geometric deviations of products. · Components of geometrical tolerances - analysis of components using position deviation and radial run-out deviation as examples. · Basing - analysis of the impact of the basing order for a sample product from the automotive industry. · Basing - analysis of basing errors for a selected example from the automotive industry. · Selection of measuring instruments and strategies using an automotive product drawing as an example (group exercise). · Creating a technical drawing for a simple auxiliary device, assigning bases and selecting the type and size of geometric tolerances (group exercise). · Calculation of a simple functional check to control a selected geometrical tolerance (group exercise). · Analysis of sample structures and technical drawings from the automotive industry.
